Ethan Phillips

Ethan Phillips is a Los Angeles based touring and session bassist. He also composes, produces and engineers an eclectic mix of music. He has a deep love and respect for many genres of music which started at an early age. His older brother, Noah, played guitar as a teenager which gave Ethan the opportunity to play instruments at home. This eventually transitioned into studying music and taking part in the Jazz studies program at USC. During his time at music school he was offered an international touring gig with Icelandic artist Emiliana Torrini which kick started his professional career touring with many different artists and subsequently led to a great deal of session work. Ethan’s dedication to groove, feel and pocket have kept him busy and in demand throughout his career, affording him opportunities to work with an array of artists.

Ethan is currently playing, recording and touring with; Singer Songwriter, Brett Dennen, Hip Hop legends De La Soul and Los Angeles Soul Afro Funk band Orgone to name a few. He has also performed on The Late Show with Letterman, The Conan O’Brian Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Family, health, commitment and the continuing search for inspiration keep Ethan excited and dedicated to continue on his path.
